Back in May 2013, the world was jamming to "Get Lucky" by Daft Punk & Pharrell, while Sir Alex Ferguson retired as the Manchester United Manager. Meanwhile, two cyber security specialists, both named Tony, launched a specialised cyber security consultancy called, 2T Security.
2T Security began as a project for central government, where the independent consultants Tony Badsey-Ellis and Tony Beadle met. Each provided leading risk analysis services and security architecture expertise, respectively. Their exceptional service was so seamless that they were dubbed, “The Two Tonys,” and they decided to join forces.
Over the past ten years, a lot has transpired, including five Prime Ministers (as of this writing), a pandemic, and England winning a significant football tournament. The cyber security industry has also undergone substantial changes to handle increasingly complex challenges, across a broader attack surface.
2T Security have had the privilege of working with some of the most exceptional individuals in cyber security. And have even convinced some to join the team. Together, the team has assisted numerous people in understanding risk, constructing robust security architecture, and implementing world-class security monitoring.
RiskTree, a brilliant risk analysis solution, was born out of frustration. There was no other software for consistent high-quality risk analysis, aligned with agile delivery and written in business language. So the 2T Security team built RiskTree.
In 2018, 2T Security became one of the few NCSC Assured Services Providers through the Certified Cyber Security Supplier (CCSC) scheme, recognising the high-quality advice provided to government departments.
More recently, the team worked tirelessly to secure systems for the NHS Test and Trace program’s rollout, without any reported incidents. While the phrase “next slide, please” became a national catchphrase, our team were focused on enabling data flow and informing those briefings. This included finding ways to secure vast amounts of individual consumer information while avoiding the stealth creation of a national identity register.
As security professionals the team do not divulge much information about their work. What they do say though, is how incredibly proud of the team, clients, and delivery they are. Thank you to all those who have been a part of our journey.
